TRAUMA IS A PARTY (OF ONE)

In the performative avant-garde fashion show, inspired by the modality Somatic Experiencing and Kelley’s work in mental health, Julz designed and created seven looks that highlight how mental health symptoms can manifest in the body. The show also featured a satirical performance critiquing individualism and bootstrap narratives within the non-profit industrial complex, with “cisters to the cistem” attempting to force the models to squeeze through literal bureaucratic hoops. Instead, the queer models dodged the hoops, walking, crawling, and jumping off the runway.
